flash
finally after 2 weeks wait my provisional driving license has arrived, so im having my first lesson tomorrow. for u own safety and the safety of others, i advise staying off the roads around the newton abbott area and watch out for pieces of gearbox littering the street. cheers flash
naddan28
congratulations I am sure you love driving! Although once you have managed to pass then the fun begins with insuring, buying and running a car! The first of the 3 is often the most amusing, as some quotes will be in the 3-6k mark lol

Cranfield
Best of luck with the first lesson, try to get as much practise as possible, preferably free practise. Those driving lessons are horrendously expensive.
naddan28
Cranfield is right they cost a fortune! I unfortunately could not practice with anyone except my instructor so set me back a fair amount! As for one of my mates he passed his driving test for £200 inc prov licence, lessons and test! He was lucky enough to have a RAF flight instructor for a dad, so he found it incredibly easy to teach him to drive, In his words "he could only go left and right, not up & down too!" flash
sadly my dads in the RAF but not a flight instructor though he still thinks hes still flying in the vulcan. gonna hopefully go tomorrow if all works out, and have to organise going out with the s400 after some bunnies as well, just got a new silencer for the s400, one of u.k.neils silencers. cheers flash
Lord Geordie
Flash! Get a series 1 or series 2 and go for Classic Insurance you SHOULD get one hell of a saving Just ring up a Classic car insurer and ask for a quote and see what the difference is. I went from paying near £400 a year to about £120 so YOU may get yours UNDER a grand. Worth a try even if it is just till you get some NCB behind you then move on to the newer stuff if you so wish Me! I prefer the weird wonderful and whacky cars hence buying a Kit Car  LG
Devon Fox
Hi Flash, I am a driving instructor and used to work in the Newton Abbot area, are you learning with the company based on Brunel road indt' estate? Have a good time mate, the first lesson is great fun !!! Ps Cranners ..... fuel and wear and tare is pretty costly, what price do you put on kids lives!, good tuition costs, and keep's the little'uns safe (well that's the goal anyway )
Teal
All driving experience is highly recommended, and really makes a big difference, taking any nerves out of it. Take any opportunities you get offered with relations and friends. That and use your mirrors and check blind spot (it gets easier with practise).
