NGhost
I was thinking of changing my bolt action CZ 22 for a Semi-Auto ruger. I have been told that they jam with subsonics, and that they dont ?? The CZ is spot on to 100 yards, but not good at rapid fire when the bunnies are running in all directions. I was also thinking of getting a large mag with it as well.
leon
NG i run a target 10/22 with a 25 shot mag for bunnies and there is nothing to compare with it. I have never found any type of ammo that jams in it even this low powered eley stuff thats only 30ftlb. Get one!
mick-wiffam
on the good side the 10/22 is fast and a nice rifle but i too had a few jams with mine but one of my mates has run perfrectly but theres one thing we both agree on is the 10/22 aint as accurate as bolt action
Lurch
Mine jams like a pig with any kind of sub-sonic. Putting a Volquartsen kit (trigger, sears etc) helped a bit, but it still jams quite regularly. I don't think I'd bother with another for hunting, but they're good for a plinker. (it's a de-luxe btw) I agree with mick-wiffma re accuracy.

The Antipodean
Keep the CZ its much more accurate and everyone i know who had a ruger sold it . Maybe Leon got the good one.
leon
looks that way don't it! I can't understand it there must be twenty people who own a 10/22 in our club and nobody has any probs with them.
NGhost
I was told a couple of years ago that if I sold the CZ/BRNO and got a ruger that before long I would want the CZ back. Then a fellow shooter tells me that His one works just fine! and shoots well. He has not tryed the Ruger and a CZ together. Maybe I should just apply for a second 22rf slot on my licence. deadeyedick
I've tried many .22s. The best for me has the be Anschutz (heavy barrel) Seriously accurate
red_stag88
Very much so, I get groups of [---] but that is down to human error.
Columbus Polumbus
Had a few 10/22's an still got one the first was deadly but I fell after that I couldn't hit a cows **** with a handful of pea's with it. Got rid and stupidly got another. Mags jam, I have had to modify to get them to work without jamming. It wasn't seated right in the action so I had to fix that! Had to change scope and mounts, now that was bloody expensive!! Shoots ok for now Oh I wish I'd bought a bolt action.......... jono sent you email but got no answer. for accuracy go for a bolt action. If the bunnies are running everywhere you should not be letting loose with a 10/22 SA it not safe.
Lurch
I've tried many .22s. The best for me has the be Anschutz (heavy barrel) Seriously accurate Better than a Sako Finnfire you think? Can't decide whether to go for a Sako or CZ, now Anschutz gets on the list - ******!
Cakie174
SAKO,SAKO,SAKO,SAKO and the Finfire Varment with Heavy barrel. Its no question
red_stag88
Not till you have shot an Anschutz my friend. They bl**dy expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Lurch
Hmm. Chances are I won't be buying either for a wee while. Had my sticky mitts on a Tikka Lite in 223 rem today. By the time I've paid for that and some nice glass, the 22lr will have to wait awhile.
tody27
My dad has got a ruger 10/22 and we have both found it jams regularily. (This could be the magazine he has.) Its a fantastic gun for carrying round coz its so light!!- lighter than most air rifles.- But i find the lack of weight can make you less accurate as you can wave about a bit.- A strap or bipod helps this problem tho. hope that helps Tody
