Is the Ruger 10/22 any good?

I was thinking of changing my bolt action CZ 22 for a Semi-Auto ruger.

I have been told that they jam with subsonics, and that they dont ??

The CZ is spot on to 100 yards, but not good at rapid fire when the bunnies are running in all directions.

I was also thinking of getting a large mag with it as well.

Mine jams like a pig with any kind of sub-sonic. Putting a Volquartsen kit (trigger, sears etc) helped a bit, but it still jams quite regularly.

I don't think I'd bother with another for hunting, but they're good for a plinker.

(it's a de-luxe btw)

I agree with mick-wiffma re accuracy.

I was told a couple of years ago that if I sold the CZ/BRNO and got a ruger that before long I would want the CZ back.

Then a fellow shooter tells me that His one works just fine! and shoots well.

He has not tryed the Ruger and a CZ together.

Maybe I should just apply for a second 22rf slot on my licence.

Had a few 10/22's an still got one the first was deadly but I fell after that I couldn't hit a cows **** with a handful of pea's with it. Got rid and stupidly got another.

Mags jam, I have had to modify to get them to work without jamming.

It wasn't seated right in the action so I had to fix that!

Had to change scope and mounts, now that was bloody expensive!!

Shoots ok for now Oh I wish I'd bought a bolt action.......... jono sent you email but got no answer.

for accuracy go for a bolt action. If the bunnies are running everywhere you should not be letting loose with a 10/22 SA it not safe.

My dad has got a ruger 10/22 and we have both found it jams regularily. (This could be the magazine he has.)

Its a fantastic gun for carrying round coz its so light!!- lighter than most air rifles.- But i find the lack of weight can make you less accurate as you can wave about a bit.- A strap or bipod helps this problem tho.

hope that helps
