Country Boy
I have it on reliable authority that a new decoying aid is under construction in a York Uni computer - Ultimately (sorry Paul) virtual 3D images of real live feeding pigeons beamed onto the field from a small hand size digital projector. The images will be on the latest mini cd's and available showing birds on all crop types inc.grass/clover in all seasons, e.g.: wintertime on rape or flat corn in summer. Crow and rook images will also be available over crops, among stock, and over woods, complete with audio effect. Price of the projector will be around £750.00 and the cd's about £90.00 each- but worth every pound as equipment will be reduced to hide kit, gun kit and projector no decoys or rotaries etc required. The projector can be placed anywhere on the field or headland and controlled by a signal from your mobile phone. Future developement will include roosting images of pigeons, rooks and jackdaws, and also feral pigeons under canal bridges specialy for air gunners. Remember you heard it on PW first, so watch this space!
AndyCM
Ok, please add virtual birds in the sky - getting shot and falling to the ground. It will save me lifting my gun or buying cartridges

Poacher
virtual 3D images of real live feeding pigeons beamed onto the field Do you really believe this  At present to project on anything otherthan a surface is possible but very expensive and such devices are used in the type of light shows seen in disney land. which is where i suggest your idea originates. Lord Geordie
The Light source to project such an image onto a field in daylight would DRAIN a battery in a matter of minuets if not seconds The power needed would impliment Mains power not batteries. Just a standard projector for Buisness to cast an image on a screen in a room filled with daylight would be at say 3500 lumens and would require a bulb about 300w to 400w NOW if Pigeons can actually see in Ultravoilet like i have read then perhaps there is a possibility of some form of UV light being transmitted ONTO decoys in the field to make them appear to move??? But a projection of a complete image would be SOME undertaking. LG
Dave-G
Yea but no but yea but you could power the lamps from a generator that runs on rape seed oil that's allready in the field
