ollie
This was my first go at trying to use the head cam on our syndicate shoot. Most of the recording was ruined due to the heavy rain, so the recording is only the first couple of drives. I need to learn to not blow the whistle as much when I'm recording as I am sure it is quite annoying for someone watching it, so apologies about that. I'll try to get better recordings next week on the shoot, weather permitting.

The whole shoot runs alongside the shore like that and there are steep braes which run down to the shore. It is difficult to appreciate how steep it is; next week I will try taking in each drive and you can see the variation.
JDog
Thank you for posting. That scenery was stunning. It has always been an ambition of mine to shoot a pheasant which landed in the sea.
ollie
Thank you for posting. That scenery was stunning. It has always been an ambition of mine to shoot a pheasant which landed in the sea. We are very lucky with the setting, it looks out onto the Irish sea. Birds have crashed into the sea on quite a few occasions, if the bird glides down after being hit. You need to get the dog out sharpish, as they can sink very quickly. ollie
wow,wet slippery slopes that steep must be bit iffy now and again??had any guns end up in the sea?! They aren't cliffs, it is grass slopes leading to a shoreline. It can be quite hard to walk at times especially when it snows, but there are sheep paths throughout the slopes, so you have to follow them. It is tough going though, so you need a good level of fitness.
Big Al
Steep ground there Ollie! You'd need one leg longer than the other. What is the headland in the background?
ollie
Steep ground there Ollie! You'd need one leg longer than the other. What is the headland in the background? The head land is garron point/carn neil mountain between glenariff & carnlough. It is tough going but a great shoot. We had a good day today, so I good video to follow during the week hopefully. Cranfield
Thats terrain that I have never shot over, some serious slopes there and a different perspective on the shooting, which was worth the watch.
