Rst1990
Purchased one of these today new aswell as a mixture of carts. I'm amazed how quiet it is, strange noise sort of metallic. So if anyone has a problem with noise this is a great bit of kit to have.
Rimfireboy
What's the quietest cart you've tried? I found the eley fourlongs quieter than eley subsonics and even quieter than the little two inch ones.

Guest stevo
To be honest im a newbie to the .410 really there are lads on here with far more experience than me . They can tell you how to get the best out of this fabulous little calibre . But from what i have been told . Dont waste your time and money buying subsonic shells . Just buy the standard shells . Like already said the Eley seem to be the quietest . My favourite for crows are the Eley magnum 18 grm in a size 5 .

Totally agree with you, I was told by the shop that the hush power works best with subs because of the sound barrier which I understood as I have fac, when I let them off in the field the standards was the quietest lol oh well you live and learn they shall come in handy any how. I did ask them for some eley foulongs but they had none in stock.
team tractor
I used 7's 16 gr express 2.5" I think. I found 7's a really good cart for 25 yard pigeon shooting . Make sure you take the mod off at grease the threads else it will seize on permanently

Make sure you take the mod off at grease the threads else it will seize on permanently Good advice,I purchased a hushpower secondhand and it took me a week to get the mod apart for cleaning, soaked it in diesel and penetrating oil, then managed to free it by holding it in a vice and turned it with a oil filter removal strap. Always use copper grease or similar on the thread. They also recommend that you only use fibre cartridges, as they say small bits of plastic wad can get caught in the moderator baffles. Jay_Russell
Ive done some squiral bcontrol with said gun, i used the eley subs and they were quite, hatd to imagine how quite the others must be. But although it sounds quite gun end what about from further away?

But although it sounds quite gun end what about from further away? I've compared the Eley subs to some different cartridges (can't remember which at the moment). They all sound about the same as the shooter, but as you say, down range I found the subs noticeably quieter. The others had a definite crack which the subs didn't. Others might find different but that's definitely what I found.
Jay_Russell
I thought that might be the case, 300 yds away the others couldnt hear me at all wuth only a light breeze rustling the trees
archiebald
Stevo your videos in the video section section are amazing! You know how to use your hushpower! In my Baikal single hushpower 2.5 inch are very quiet and the eley magnum 3" just sound like a hammer hitting a chisel. Very quiet! I been using 3" no.7 but after seeing your videos stevo I'll be buying some no.5,s next. I would definitely watch stevo,s videos for some ideas. Stevo you are a very modest man. Great guns these. fse10
Nice little gun, i've had my Baikal hush power for a year & think it's great but i also made the mistake of not putting any grease on the threads tried everything to free it but had to take to a gunsmith in the end to get it off. Was using plas wad's but you soon get fed up emptying the little bits that chip off though the ports in the barrel out of the mod. So have just got some 3in subs & some Ely fourlongs to try if it ever stops issing it down. Must admit after watching Stevo's vid's i'm thinking of chopping it in for the mossberg.
