Perfectly do able with ITM or Hevi shot. Perhaps steel but i have no experience of 20 bore. I know of one local fowler who now uses a 20 for all his foreshore work

Yes but the person you talk about homeloads , unless Hopper Bopper wants to go down the same route , cartridges will be at a premium and difficult to source in Hevi shot and ITM.

The current lyvale hevi shot 12 guage cartridges have such small loads they are barely fit for purpose let alone a 20 gauge .

I shot quite a few with my old 20, it's do-able but range is restricted with steel cartridges. I did well decoying & flighting inland in Scotland with 3" lead cartridges.

The best gun/cartridge combination I've used for geese is a 10 bore with 1/4 choke, using 3 1/2" Remington Nitro Steel BB.

I have shot 36g of No4 shot through my 20g many times. Never really notice the kick much that people talk about. Not the thing to use on geese though. Why ***** them?

That is a big load through a 20 bore. What were you shooting at with those if it wasn't geese?
