steve_b_wales
Most police forces don't like issuing a Sec 7 permit, and may try and talk you out of it, or flatly refuse. If they do, and you are a member of BASC, get onto them straight away.
bostonmick
Whilst a section 7 should be issued it depends on why renewal is delayed.
Guest stevo
Lincolnshire is handing them out left right and center at the min, they are soooooooo far behind it unreal ,
robbiep
North Wales have said that they will automatically issue S.7s this year if they are late and it is their fault. Whether that happens in reality or not is another matter, of course ...
andrewluke
Whilst a section 7 should be issued it depends on why renewal is delayed. but if you still have guns in your possession then you should be issued with a section 7 whatever the reason for the delay of renewal! Guest stevo
but if you still have guns in your possession then you should be issued with a section 7 whatever the reason for the delay of renewal! only if the fault is theres ,not yours ie if you don't renew in the recommended time , if that's the case there quite within there right to make you sign them over to another SGC holder or over to an RFD atb

ayano3
Lincs police have a backlog. Mine has been in since the beginning of December and they have until tomorrow to get my new one to me which they promised last week. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow. It didn't help the process that they received my cheque but lost it. They don't like to issue temporary certificates as they said it takes longer to do a temp one than an original. Carman06
This is all looking bad for me having ng just sent off my grant application this week in lincolnshire. Looks like I could be looking at 3 months by the sounds of it.

bostonmick
as far as I am aware the lincs fao's work 15 hours a week so if you allow 2 hours for a visit plus another hour for writing up reports and taking them into the office they are doing five a week at best.So a backlog of 100 is already a few months wait. Also speaking to some of the local rfd's they are getting a lot of guns in for storage due to the delays.I know a couple of people who sent in their renewal early to try to avoid delay and they had their cheque and forms returned telling them to submit nearer The time.So how do you win. Carman06
This is so depressing. I'm going to see loads of guns between now and forever when they finally look at my application. There will probably be new H.O. Guidelines and an amendment to the act before I see a ticket.
activeviii
Am I right in thinking that a section 7 only allows you to hold said firearms and that you can't go out and use them of purchase ammo.
lister22
best bit is it is the same amount of time to issue an S7 as it is to issue FAC
