motty
Some nice shooting. Do you think if the magnet was a little closer to the hide, you may have got those bunches in a bit closer and therefore shot more?
Guest cookoff013
Some nice shooting. Do you think if the magnet was a little closer to the hide, you may have got those bunches in a bit closer and therefore shot more? +1 i havent decoyed in years. but when i did a chap helped me out with the distances, close decoys allow you to shoot incomers / sitting on deeks and those spooked on the way out. about 25 paces or so (sub 30yards) it also helps with getting doubles, and allows you to make educated decisions such as (open choking, and cartridge choice). @OP thats good shooting! fenboy
Having seen some of the good bags that Blade has posted on here I think it is fair to say he has some idea of what he is doing . Things often look further away on video than they actually are. On slow days I will often put my magnet further out to give myself some more sporting shots . blade
Thanks for all your replies what it doesn't show on video is the large bush I was sat under. The wind was in my face changed direction after I set up.If I put magnet any closer the birds would have to come directly over me and have no room to turn back into the pattern

I just watched the video again and most of the birds shot came from right to left. My thought is that if the magnet (which to me it appeared the pigeons were heading for) was just 10 yards closer, you would have had doubles instead of singles.
