luckytrigger
Normally i use nothing but eley subs through my cz but thought i try something different so bought some cci subsonic hp. They seem to group accuratley enough but i had to force the bolt a bit to close the breech so stop using them after firing off only ten rounds. Upon examining them the base of the case seems to protrude slightly more than the eley's. I also had a couple of rounds that made a fair old 'crack' when fired and didnt seem sub sonic at all Has anybody else encountered these problems with cci's? Thanks guys
fusion
I have always used CCI subs in my Ruger 10/22 with no problems at all. Went to get some more this week but they had nil stock so I've got Eley subs to try... Cheers
kip270
I have just switched to the CCI hp as my supplier do not have any Eley!! After over a 100+ rnds through my CZ bolt action, no problems closing the bolt, this rifle is over 20yrs old though

luckytrigger
i all ways use cci, good ammo no trouble at all. I guess its just down to individual rifles. (there were no probs with the groups i obtained from them, easily as accurate as the eleys).
dunganick
cci is junk, wouldnt give it cabinet space eley, winchester or lapua (go under different brands)

However you are of course welcome to your opinion just for gods sake dont buy alot of cci before trying, buy a box of 50 to try out. Also bare in mind they are copper washed so dont expect to be able to switch from cci to another manufactor as the copper has a habbit of sticking around and ruining accuracy. badsworth
I've used CCI in my CZ for months - no problem. The advantage with using CCI subs for me is that I also use CCI high velocity for close range Fox. Both rounds are 'Copper Washed' rather than greased, so there is no 'settling in' when swapping between the two rounds. If you swap between a copper washed and a greased bullet (or vice versa) the first 5 rounds or so will not hit their usual point of impact. The POI is different for Hi Velocity and subsonic rounds of course - but with practice you know where it is. I zero my subs at 75yards, then find that the gun is more or less spot on with Stingers at 105 yards. CCI work for me!
Russell
I found I was getting a lot of cracks with the CCI subs in my Ruger 77/22 - guessing it was around 10 - 20%. Use Winchester SuperX subs now - still get an odd crack, but less than 1% now.
webber
I had exactly the same problem with CCI in my Sako, but had no problem with Eleys, so I now stick with them. I swapped the CCIs with McF who used them up un his little Browning semi auto. webber
Dunkield
It seems differnet guns like different ammo once again. I only ever used CCI's once (through a borrowed tricked up 10/22) and found them to be a complete and utter heap of steaming pooh. More poppers and crackers than you average box of fireworks Each to their own...
Vegeta
Thank god someone started this thread. I too find it very difficult to close the bolt on my 1 week old CZ lux .22lr using CCI subs. accuracy is quite good with them though and i have no issue with them other than the bolt not closing easily I have fired 85 from a box of
il cacciatore
I will never buy CCI again. I put a box of 200 through my Anschutz 525 and I got about 10 chewed ones. You get too many HVs in a box too. Complete junk. Group alright I suppose but not worth the hassle for me.

Vegeta
just use em up. A good target practice session or plinking session will eat through them. A pain to use i know but they are accurate I only got the rifle last week and I thought it was the rifle and not the ammo. Tried a few eley subs (have 100 of them too) and problem with the bolt instantly gone. I will probably stick to winchester or eley in the future though

Vegeta
yeah I get 100 eley rounds for 13.80 euro and the cci were 11.80 euro so its about 2 cent a round but probably worth it in the end.
jcbruno
guns can be a bit picky sometimes it just takes a while for your gun to build memory in the exractor or bolt but having said that i am not a big fan of cci out of north america i like federal gold match and even winchester wildcats fair ok i also realy like norma, lapua and eley
