I was looking for the basic model when I came across this one and had to have it. Fantastic gun, I've never had a jam and I don't always clean it as much as I should. I love the speed load and magazine cut off on them. brett1985 Posted March 7, 2016 Report Share Posted March 7, 2016 I was considering one of these when I got the Maxus, they seem to be very well thought of and a bargain at that price. the cycling of the action is ridiculously quick, and the balance of the gun is great as well. I took it out on sunday for a round of sporting and didn't have 1 issue with it. far better than the beretta 1301 comp I had last year! it will make a cracking gun for someone, just not me... lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
cooperjb1308 Posted May 18, 2016 Report Share Posted May 18, 2016 My first auto was a beretta 302 with both a 30 inch steel proof barrel from last owner and the original multi choke barrel and it was amazing, wood wasn't the best but for pigeons and rough shooting there was nothing better. I now have a harassment escort in 12 and I just annoy fault it it will do anything I want it to and it was dead cheap. I Walsh have a browning A5 from the 50's and that is great but it is a full choke barrel which isn't perfect for close range work but for £125 I wasn't going to argue. I used an 812 for a summer pigeon and crow shooting then half a season wildfowling, it was a decent gun but the new hatsan extreme I use now as my 'work' gun is a better thing. Just looking for a reasonable - or should that say cheap - priced all rounder 'starter' (probably see most use on clays). FAC is up for renewal and iv applied to move to a conterminous. Parts are difficult to locate they are made by ARMSAN, Webley and scott effectively washed their hads of the Webley semi autos if you own one run it till it drops, but not a prudent purchase second hand. For a cheap semi Auto Hatsan Escort you can get parts for them reliable and i must say the newer one i saw the other day impressed me very much rubber insers in the stock Rem Choke tube threads so aftermarket tubes abound for it should you need any. It took 50 shots or so, and a good clean to get it going, but it has never let me down, and cycles even 21g clay cartridges reliably. I'd recomend it to anyone looing for a cheap semi. I would go with the Hatsan too myself its the cheapes auto around, and parts are eassily available, dont look at just the gun ignoring the parts sittuation. The Webley and Scotts were ok but webley and scott effectively re invented themselves and vertualy overnight ignored the semi autos compoletely. The webleys are ARMSANs badged as W&S , only used parts as far as i know now. Its the Hatsan everythime without spares back up availability any other gun is a long term liability regardless of make.
