bobby dazzler
What are u fellow pigeon shooters shooting over now rape drillings cover crops clover or having um in the woods coming in on the Berries I think they are very spoilt for choice at the moment I was having a look at some drillings this afternoon with rape beside it a lot of barley on top but they were still hammering the rape strange
JDog
I have had two good days on drillings. On the way back this evening I saw a huge flock lift from some rape. Some I have shot have had clover and Ivy berries in their crops.
aga man
Lots of spring drilling going on now round these parts, yet this afternoon it seemed every horse paddock or sports pitch had stoggies feeding away on clover. On top of that now the nitrogen is being put on the rape it will soon sprout up and leave short patches very attractive to pigeons. I would agree they are spoilt for choice. bobby dazzler
The good thing is started noticing a lot of flocks starting to break up now I am still getting very good shooting over cover crops and they have only cut half of um and there seems to be a lot more spring drillings going in this year and a lot more peas
motty
I agree that there may be many different food sources for the pigeons to choose from, but I think that's what makes it satisfying when the right place is chosen to shoot. TIGHTCHOKE
At the top of Cambridgeshire and the bottom of Lincolnshire they were on the rape and haven't found the recently drilled beans and barley. We will see where they want to be today! Edited March 13, 2015 by TIGHTCHOKE

bobby dazzler
I have noticed a few members on here think that rape is a last resort food the amount of pigeons I have see on rape today travelling around the south west is huge and they have drillings all around um I for one defentily don't think it's a last resort grub
