billytheghillie
I am a ghillie on a prime river Tweed beat, last spring and this spring, seals entered the river and were as far up as Kelso. As a result the seals chased all the salmon up to the Junction beat, resulting in them having great sport. I support a culling of these animals as there is to many of them and they need managed, just like the red deer.
norfolk dumpling
I see no difference between a rouge seal and a fox targeting pheasant. Do we shooters no have a duty to protect our sport beit fishing or game shooting? Also I feel we have a duty to the next generation. There is a lot of hypocrisy on PW at times. One day billytheghillie I'd like to have a crack at salmon so keep protecting those waters.

Are they harbour or grey seals ? and do you know if this has occurred in the past (historic records) I am interested because the movement of seals could be a barometer of the state of our inshore waters, its health or otherwise.
