tonker
I have just seen a post in the for sale adds for a number plate. my youngun's car has just ceased to be a moving item. It's number plate is P911 PFB. Anybody think it may be of any value, Porsche owners club? Relation of someone from twin towers (bit morbid) any thoughts anyone, before it's scrapped. Fuji Shooter
Worth a fair few bob if you can get it onto a retention certificate. If you visit www.regtransfers.co.uk and search for P911 - scroll down a bit. You may be surprised what people are trying to get for some, anything between £800 to £3K
Scully
Mate in shoot has an old Ford tractor with the reg' JAG ***. We had a look on-line and if I recall it was valued at £4,500. It's still on his tractor.
tonker
Sorry another question, can we just take the plates off and keep the registration document before we scrap it? or does it need plates on to be scrapped?
bubble
I think it needs to be mot'd to transfer it, might be wrong
Rupert
Needs current mot, then the number can be put on retention for a fee,£105 I think.put it on 911uk (Porsche forum)

tonker
Thanks for the replies and steerage guys, it still has an MOT so perhaps I'd better try and put it on a retention for him, I suppose I do this through the DVLA? Perhaps I'd better Google it Cheers Steve
Mike737
Might be able to sell the whole car to an interested Porsche owner, simpler... Mike.

Scully
My dear old Dad once bought a Hillman Minx with the reg' PRM 1. I have no idea how they contacted my Dad as we had no 'phone back then, but two blokes turned up on separate occasions, one in an Austin of some kind and I remember seeing it parked outside our house; it's reg' number was PRM 1G if I recall. I think it was a brand new car. A relative got in touch to tell my Dad not to sell it before he came up from Manchester as there was a bloke near him interested in it, but my Dad had already sold it....for £45.
