Bullets on ticket

Recommended Posts

If they are non-expanding (i.e. if they can be posted out to you) : No, they do not need to be recorded on your FAC. They do NOT count as part of your allowable limit until loaded.

If they are expanding (Vmax, Varmint, etc) : Yes, they do need to be recorded on your FAC. They DO count to your allowable limit, whether loaded or not.

If you are reloading expanding, then let your FEO know, and ask for an additional allowance for expanding bullets, that way you can stock up.

Do any bullets you buy for reloading count towards your ammo allocation on your FAC and do they need to be recorded on your ticket?? There seems to be a mixed response to this depending who you speak to.

Cheers

But read the last sentence of 3.22 before you read 3.23 ....

You appear to either trying to deliberately muddy the waters, or you just haven't read it.

For those that don't want to wade through the legalese :

3.22 deals with the prohibition on expanding bullets/ammunition, explaining the fact that this also applies to bullets as well as complete rounds, and then explaining the exemption that is in place for stalkers/pest/vermin controllers, that the permission to hold expanding will be on their certificate, It finishes by saying that :

There is no need for the bullets to be listed separately on the certificate, other than in the circumstances described below (my highlight)

The next line is 3.23 (so this IS the 'circumstances below')

3.23 then deals with the fact that expanding bullets do count as part of your allowance. It explains that a higher limit may be needed, to allow for the possession of completed rounds and a stock of bullets, and that "the bullets should be listed separately to help avoid unnecessary stockpiling of complete rounds". It finishes by stating that the RFD selling expanding bullets MUST enter the sale onto the FAC and in their register.
