RossEM
Does anyone use a Yildiz 20 bore side by side, what are they like to shoot? Last year I got rid of my well worn Medallist 20 bore and bought a Parker Hale 801 (Winchester 1010 which is a great quality gun, but it just doesn't suit. I have a semi auto 12 bore for geese but would like to go back to a lightweight 20 bore for rough shooting, pigeons, and ducks. I'm after a single trigger side by side 20 bore with pistol grip, having shot my brother's Winchester 23 which is really nice, a Rizzini which wasn't nearly as good but was £3,000 more expensive, and also looking at a Fausti Snipe. Ideally I'd like something Italian or Spanish but they're like hen's teeth so I might have to go with a Yildiz...what do the owners reckon? Cheers, Ross

RossEM
Thanks for the suggestions, still nowt on guntrader, all the Yildiz have that horrible aluminium action
Dangerous Brian
Sorry, just noticed this thread. I have a Yildiz sbs 20 bore and love it. The aluminium action may not be to everyone's taste (would be nice if it were a little more dulled) but it makes for a very nice light pointable gun. The stock fits me well so a round of sporting with a mix of 24 and 28 gram shells is fine. I was also pleasantly surprised when I shot 32 grams through it (not my first choice but all I could get at the time). Main plus point is it is multi choked so you can mix and match for a round of skeet for fun then on to something else.
RossEM
Thanks for that, I've just had a look on Yildiz site and they do a version with a black action, haven't seen one in the Uk yet
button
The silver action always put me off, phoned the importer and can get the black action in at same price. So thanks for costing me more money! Ha
Westley
At the price of a used 20 bore Yildiz over a new one, I would go with the silver action and a black marker pen. Having owned an O/U 20 bore Yildiz and a 28 bore, both with the silver action, I have had no problems with either. I have handled the SxS but it just felt a touch too light. Oh, and the rubber recoil pad has more grip that a set of Michelins, you may want to change that.

The problem I have with the silver action is that it looks cheap & nasty - I like silver actions but not when they're laser cut aluminium! I think the actions of certain Turkish made guns (i.e. the Webley 912K are just painted black rather than blued or blacked?
button
I was told it was the same price as the silver one, the model is A5 and i see one on gt for £725 so thats what I am aiming to pay
blasterjudd
Have a look at a new spanish Zabala berri lux there very much like the Winchester and have a nice case hardened action. I own one and it's a lovely Gun very well manufactured and finished. Also a multi choke gun so can change to suit your shooting requirements. Around £795 new as well but in my opinion a much better gun to Yildiz.....
RossEM
I thought Zabala went out of business?
