Crows in your pigeon decoy pattern

Was just wondering if you lot do or not. I have done before but not always. Also if you do where do you put them and why ?

I sometimes put crow decoys amongst my pigeon decoys i usually put them to the side of the main pattern not to close to the pigeon decoys. I don't always use them as sometimes i find it can actually put the pigeons off so sometimes i'll put them out but then have to take them in again but other times it actually seems to encourage the pigeons in with a bit more confidence, i think it must make the pattern look more natural,and obviously it brings the odd crow over. I find it works best when crows and pigeons often feed together where i'm decoying

Yes, it appears to give the pigeons confidence that all is well and normal and it is okay to come in.

You often see Joe Crow on the edge of a field of feeding pigeon - makes it look a bit more real. Don't have any crow deeks but I leave them where they drop - the piggies don't seem to mind

One or two in the pattern , and a couple just outsode the pattern .

I normally do and seems to work ok A while ago i roughed up a pigeon and placed it under a crow on a flapper in the pattern the pigeons still came in and a few crows as well

went out yesterday put out pigeon pattern and crows on the outside, had 14 crows and 3 pigeons.

Not sure about the confidence thing but every little bit counts. Although i`ve had reasonable crow shooting if the pigeons have failed to show.

I put crow decoys to one side of the pigeons. I also put a couple of magpie decoys out to the edges as well. This also gives the pigeons extra confidence.

I usualy put them well behind the deek's and have noticed that the pidgeon seem to come to the pattern with more confidence

You know how it is you shoot one crow and two more come to the wake!

crow's fly all day long and as we know pigeon have a siesta to digest what they have plundered SO they help to keep you alert ha ha

I do, put them on the outside of the pattern, although my decoying is not having much success at the mo. However have bought the Archie coates book so fingers crossed

TRY using some Magpies in a tree on the highest branchs where they can be seen by the in coming pigeons. I do this as well as crows off to one side and find it works well.
