Whitebridges
Two wheel drive or 4x4?
fenboy
Both Kia and Hyundai are starting to top the reliability surveys IIRC , my sister in law has one that two years old now and loves it, 50 + mpg and no problems as of yet.
Whitebridges
I had a 2009 one. More thirsty than a dragon on heat. Got stuck off road twice so binned it.
Fredwalton
It's 2 wheel drive but can be switched to 4wheel drive. The one I'm looking at is an 09 plate, it says it will 40 mpg which is good for a big vehicle
DazzJo
Bought one today ice white 12 plate 11k on the clock...absolute peach of a motor
Jay_Russell
Our gamekeeper has the sorrento and loves it. 100k milliage and apart from brakes tyres etc zero problems. Does ok in the mud too. Tyres are obviously the important part with any 4x4 but the better they are off road the less mpg you will have
Fredwalton
That's good to know people like them. Thanks for all of your replies
Vince Green
Kia and Hyundai are really top quality vehicles slightly hindered by the cut price image they have used to get market share in the UK
ferguson_tom
Mates got the older shape 2.0 petrol sportage and its a really nice bit of kit for the money. So far dont think its cost him a penny. Interior is simple but comfortable and well put together. A bit thirsty but he does drive it like a sportscar. I have the older shape sorrento and can vouch for the Kia reliability, its 52 plate with 80000 miles and in 2 years we have had its been great with no real problems apart from Kia replacing the fuel tank FOC as it was a known issue. Every new Kia I have seen I have been very impressed with they are no longer a "cheap" brand and more than earnt a decent reputation to run against the big boys. DreadedFlapper
I bit the bullet and bought a 13 plate sportage in white!! It's a 2wd 1.7 diesel. (didn't really warrant going to the 2.0 for the 4wd) I have to say I'm very impressed. It's averaging 45mpg and a nice drive. Only had it a month so reserve judgement 😁

Vince Green
Hyundai are a huge company! They make all sorts of kit up to massive ships, In March we were in France and opposite our hotel was a very big digger making some sort of a spur road, that was a Hyundai.
