grahamch
Hi, Am loking for a new and warm shirt for the coming season. Looked at the Simms cold weather shirt which looks good but at £99 is too pricey by far. Any recommendations please? wildfowler.250
I use a thermal thing from Tiso sometimes. To be honest you're warm when you're walking but I can't say I notice much difference over a standard shirt. Balaclava and gloves make a massive difference. kent
Consider if you are exerting yourself prior to sitting still in the cold. Sitting in your own sweat will chill you faster than anything. I like to walk out cold without any sweating as such I carry clothes rather than wear them These days it's no synthetics and no cotton Breathable vest or T shirt then real wool with a waterproof over the lot. Mentalmac
Norgies are great bits of kit, I have a couple I got for hardly any money at all from a army surplus. Nice high zip necks and on mine I can roll the neck over when zipped up and keeps neck nice and warm.
