Hi

I have been following your post and you are doing a great job, well done!

Saw your worries last night and dont really understand what may be wrong but...

As for the check straps, they do just come of the mounting bracket and loop directly round the underside of the axle and back up. I never bothered with them though (usually cut em off) as it did limit axle articulation off road and worked against the added reach gained using parabolic springs + long reach gas shockers. By the way, it looks to me like you are using the standard shocks? Are these ok with your springs, as they do work harder than with standard springs and may overheat.

Keep up the good work

thanks mate, iv changed the u bolt over today but the axle is still the same, my mate said with the weight of the engine when its back in may twist it back to where it should be, id also forgot to put the plate under the springs that the brake line fix to so added them too whilst changing u bolts over, as for the wheels im not using the ones that are on so they are no longer concerning me, and as for the check straps they dont even fit, thes seem to be 3 inch to short :no::no:

Another pic for you

:good::good:

so my mate finally came round today to weld bulkhead door pillars, door pillar feet, foot wells and top corner panel, was doing it for 6 hours but didnt get it all done, there seemed to be a fair bit of faffing about to get everything right and in the right place for welding, still pleased though :good::good:

Leave them off until you get the weight of the engine/ gearbox and rear tub fitted back on the chassis, then try them for length ?.

Measure the back axle - from flange to flange ( where the wheel bolts on) then the front - if they are the same & supposed to be the same width then the wheels have a different offset i.e. more outside/inside than the others???
