whilst its all apart...............im not saying do it ............but think about putting anti resonance pads on the areas where there is a wide expanse of aluminium........use a very good 2 part epoxy.............the pads can be a bit pricey but the differance it makes is staggering...pads on the inside of the roof the inside of the doors ...bulkhead ...tub...foot wells etc......this is the ideal time to do it ................

think about it.....google soundproofing

there are 2 camps regards freewheel hubs............some people think when disengaged they put too much stress on the rest of the train...........some people think thats a load of cobblers..............having said that i had them on my lightweight and no problem there....didnt make any differance to the mileage

my view is if landrover thought they were a good idea they would have fitted them as standard.

tin hat on...................

its just something else that could go wrong..........its like electrics on a car there are more and more of them every year......

and whats involved to get rid of them, what new parts would i need if any?

easy enuff to get rid of....cant remember what you need once they come off...nothing internal just the hub part................the old ones if in good condition are very sellable....and should cover your costs to put it back to original

RodP will be along shortly and will better advise you

sorry been a bit slack this last couple of week, not been in the mood, will be getting bulkhead on at the weekend and parts on the engine and bulkhead :good::good::good:

He is suffering from 'cleaners withdrawal' --- must be boring just re-assembling stuff :-)

Keep up the good good work
