a lot of the holes have been filled withe the galv so im going to have to drill them out, not a big problem, didnt help that the wire they put through the holes was tight without the galv filling round the hole too, some of it was a rite **** to get out

now to the problem, on the inside of the roof vents they open by pulling the thing back and pushing up, as there is a spring in there it seems to of welded its self up so it wont move, and there all clamped shut via the spring and where they close up,

It sounds like 1/2 doz of one and 1/2 doz of the other.....you not disasembling it completly...and them doing a rubbish job

before you start cutting and snipping....go to B&Q and get a MAPP gas torch and heat up the snots and see it they will melt the excess off

with the roof vent mechanism.....put it in a vice and put the torch on it and with the other hand....pliers and keep on wiggling it until it starts moving ...cause the zinc has melted...then remove the heat but still wiggle the mechanism until it cools and the zinc solidifies.............

do the same with the wires .....................................if you ever send stuff to galv again...and it has threads in it...fill the thread holes with a ceramic paste prior to sending off

go easy with the MAPP gas............zinc has a fairly low melting point so you dont want to burn it off just sweat it off,......to give you a comparison...the melting point of brass is 900c...as zinc is 420c.....and lead is 327c

so easy does it

just looked at some of my photos from when i started, not much help really, still just looked like 2 or 3 bolts to the chassis and bolted on around the radiator, :good::good:

That's it, three bolts at the bottom to the chassis then about 10 bolts to the wings (actually the wing bolts should be plates with studs but they seldom seem to survive).

Radiator bolt to front panel.

Cheers for that made a start last night, bottom and left out, just the right to go. Man hey were hard to get off but luckily most sheared off. Need an extra 2 feet of length on my arms though.

Cheers mate. But looking at it I think I will be ok as the bad bits are the bits that sit up in the roof and will never be seen..

Emailed the galv place yesterday about my vent mesh bits. Told him they defiantly went for galving but never came back. Asked him to have a look for me. Got back to me today saying he'd had a look but couldn't find them, not very helpful and no other suggestions.

Iv emailed there head office to see what there policy is on lost bits and pieces.
