Tee shirts for next charity shoot Mark, do you know any tee shirt printers?.

:whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

But since you mention the charity shoot.

This thread is a prime example of the good it does to all that attend.

There were some fantastic prizes offered by very generous people.

This year all that attended helped raise over £6k this year :w00t:

Look out for next year's event and if you can attend, please do. It don't matter if you can shoot or not, it's a great day out for charity :good:

That's the plug out of the way.

Tell us about the burns and hammer rash Alix ;):whistling:

Well here we go 😂

Thanks Sabs did I wrong you in a former life 😗

As you know Sabs won this prize and in the spirit of pigeon watch

Promptly gave it away 😖 anyway the lad he gave it to is a bit keen on forge work

Apparently rugged and muscular appeals to a certain type 😗

After a bit of a drive and a ferry journey he arrived a bit of introduction to the family and into the forge for a bit of planning and a decision on a way forward deciding more on skill building for a future hobby than construction of a ornate piece 😉

Now disaster and you will struggle with this CAKE

The chocolate cream and everything CAKE he didn't want any 😩

Well I couldn't waste it 🎂😀

So a bit to eat and a drive to see some of the island and a pint at the local

The Saturday

Obviously a full English then into the forge

We started with a few simple tasks

Problem

Quick phone call to my granny and problem solved borrowed her new toffe hammer

Well he struggled with the heavy one 😙 bless

Anyway I like to make things from things and turn learnt skills into products

Onward bit of decision making (not his forte) and projects were underway 😋

I was impressed by the lads outlook to elf and safety and the way he grasped planning the next step in the process so as to not waste the heat

Very good 👍

Bigger project after lunch more CAKE

1 6 inch piece of 1 inch square

Hope your ready for this UD

Some pictures to keep the grandkids away from the fire

Polished to increase air speed

The boy was on fire (well I was )

The concentration

Enough let's move on because he was hot and cream crackered

So break and a drink

Followed by a Chinese I think the lad thought my dog liked him but he was realy eating of his plate😂😂😂

Then a quick drive out to my mate the stick maker to have a look at a few he's working on and see a finished bespoke one

Thanks Nigel for spending time with my Lad, thanks also to Sabs who gave him the raffle prize and thanks to PW for the charity shoot, we both have attended twice and won some excellent raffle prizes.

Only trouble is he now keeps lighting his home made forge next to the conservatory, so I better check my house insurance :-)

Don't just read it phone them it's called non disclosure if you don't!

Costs me a fortune

The Sunday

Bit of a relax for Sunday

So being aware of the age gap decided to recruit young farrier the dangerous boy for the day 😂

Well the weather was a tad unhelpful persistent rain dangerous always hungry decided we should do breakfast

3 full English later the rain eased a bit and we loaded up the gear for a round of clays

Different venue this time Sabs 😋

What can I say talk about care for the old folks I was loaded up like a pack mule 3 guns 350 cartridges

Even had to carry the score board 😁

Challenging clays on the day and it's not a easy ground 😊

The lads were pretty well matched and had a good round the scores wer pretty close throught the round and at the final count 😋

SOUTH win 😂😂😂😂

Then the little **** made me buy the tea 😖

Shortly after recovering from paying for the tea pies and cakes that dangerous and ginjar consumed

We drove back to my place dangerous cleaned the guns whilst I took ginger in the forge where we recapped on the previous day

He remembered 😋

We then talked of tempering steel there's 2 things make it easy knowing the hardness levels of the coulers at quenching time and exactly the type of steel your tempering 😚

Anyway we did a bit with some sucsess and a few fails 😁

It was Sunday so Mrs Of did us a roast

Beef Yorkshires (northern lad) and the trimmings with a gentle desert of strawberries and cream and cheesecake

1/2 a cow later and the strawberry crop of Kent they wanted seconds 😉

A quick five in the chair lock the guns away they were dry by then

The weather had brightened up and a drive to the other end

So we spent a couple of hours sight seeing and all to soon the day was over

I even got dangerous home in time for his dinner 😋

Anyway that was my take on the weekend

A big thanks to ginger for rising to the challenge and

Sabs for giving him the prize (bog snorkelling booked)

Now the shameless plug

There are many on the forum that could do similar we all have our jobs /talents / skills that seem mundane to us

There exiting and interesting to many others so please think about it for next years

Charity raffle

It's about giving a memory to some one

Anyway enough

Hope you enjoyed the thread and maybe next year it could be you

All the best

Of

Of

Not a shameless plug at all OF,

I had a fantastic time with you last year and I know Alix also had a great time too.

This day came about because of your generosity to the charity shoot and have made lifetime memories for Alix and I.

If anyone else has "experience days" that they could offer to the charity shoot raffle, I'm sure it would be well received and you can do your own little bit to help raise funds for charity. It doesn't matter if you can't offer a prize, but you can always try to attend and enjoy a good day out meet old and new friends and break a clay or two all in the name of charity :good:

Now the plugs are over, what about the burns :whistling:

Burns

I have to be honest ginger had a far better concept of elf and safety than previous victims 😗(visitors) to the forge

Anyway girls like a scar 😋

Although I did think the heat of the forge badly affected the colour of his hair 😙

Didn't like to draw attention to it though they can be a bit techey about that sort of stuff 😊
