maxie
Today I had my first ever ton, on bean stubbles,I picked up 125 birds. I set up at 11 o`clock and packed up at 5 o`clock.Unfortunately my phone is just a basic cheap model with no camera so no photos. When I set up there wasn`t a bird on the field or in the air,but I had watched the field for a day or two and knew they would appear in the afternoon.I`m sure I would have got 150+ if the police hadn`t turned up at about 4 o`clock because some one had reported shooting in the field. That`s the first time I have ever had the police out so that made the day a double first, and a day to remember. maxie
Great stuff! I think you should have carried on regardless. To be honest in hindsight I`m glad the police did turn up and stop play because I never realised how much 125 birds weigh.I`m sitting here with a beer and I`m completely knackered. ShropshireSam
Well done on your first ton. I have a couple of permissions with beans for the first time but won't be cut for at least another 2 weeks and by then the gamekeepers may not want me shooting on the bean stubbles.
