eccles
Had a message off my mate Geraint last night said few crows back on 1 of his farms. Did not think it would be a lot there as shot 120 + few months back. Anyway said i'd give it a go this morning. Got up at 5 had breekie and feed dogs etc. Set off at 6 for a 1/2 hour trip to farm thought i'd set up on a grass field behind barns. Got on to field blinking sheep everywhere but decided i'm not finding another spot. Got the hide up in front of hedge out with some full body decoys, and i still use a lot of the old plastic ones to tight to buy more flock coated, and some shell decoys. Drove truck 100y away walked back had a coffee or two and my smokes. Got gun out etc no face mask only left it in truck to lazy to walk back. Then noticed i'd not brought my head props either they where at home. At about 7. 15 few crows started to caw caw in the distance. Then about 7.30 i started banging away was very slow going . Shot like a TxxT on a good few crows was fuming i hate missing them. Lot of raven's where flying about so had to take care as not to shoot them. Never seen so many usually a few bangs and they don't come back. Had some good shooting though even though it was hard work. Just after 12 could see that rain was coming soon so packed up quick. Picked up 96 lot behind in bramble + nettles up to my neck so they stayed there plus a good few that dropped over hedge on left. Just got everything in truck and down came the rain might have stayed but only had light hoodie on. My poor OLD back is now killing don't think i'll be shooting in a few years. So not a bad mornings crow bashing just shooting over grass. Hope he gets his cash out good lad fair play. Hide + Decoys

eccles
Just a note as had question in PM . Shot with 1/4 and 1/2 choke OU no6 Clear pigeon. Decoys out about 15y know pic looks further but set at 15y. No caller used just sit tight they will come in ok. Did have a remote flapper out off Paul Hart The Pigeon Shooter. Works very well good bit of kit but jury still out if they any good on crows. Came in without flapper just as good bet for pigeon they would be great. Only left hide to pick birds that dropped further than 25y to 30y 3 times never bother to pick dead out of pattern would have put a few on head props if i'd taken them. As i said above the old plastic type just as good as flockcoated one's just give them a mat black spray every year, and they are a lot stronger too. steve_b_wales
Regarding plastic Crow decoys, Paul Hart also sells 'socks' to fit over them. They work well and hide any shining ones. They can also be placed over pigeon decoys too.

Always good quality goods and excellent customer service. The shell Crow decoys are brilliant and really move with the slightest breeze. The remote flapper sounds interesting. You can knock it off soon as crows head in also speed up or slow down flap speed. No point in it flapping away if nothing flying about.lol
