Paul T
If I was tempted with a Benelli I'd go with the M2

Bass301gmh
All I can say is try before you buy. Have a go with a few different makes within your price range, try for fit, look at the reviews and posts on here and then buy the best suited for your needs. Gin steady shooter
1 year ago I went through the same process, benelli m2 or Vinci. Read all the reviews I could find online, it seems the Vinci had some issues with lighter loads less so with the m2. In the end as I was after a 3.5" chamber, and the super vinci def seems not to Handel light loads at all well, I went down the gas operated route instead of inertia and bought a beretta a300 extrema. As long as it's rails are lightly oiled it fires light clay loads no probs, all way up to heavy goose loads. Highly recommended. From my reading the inertia was more reiable from a mechanical point requiring less maintenance but has a narrower spectrum of loads it could reliably cycle. I.e very light mite jame or very heavy load weren't too recoil friendly - this is what I've read across many reviews but can't qualify it as never owned one. Plus many good reviews as well as bad out there. Breaking in the inertia guns with heavy loads seems to be the key to using lighter clay loads. john m
Had a go at JJ's near Darenth valley hospital on Sunday only did two stands as it was so crowded it was 20-30 minutes each stand so on the basis of 24 carts fired the gun is light fast swing through with a smooth action no problem cycling clay loads and and low recoil. I am at Abbey shooting tomorrow where i will give it a good try, more to follow. Edited December 28, 2015 by john m
john m
Just shot a 70 bird shoot at Abbey Detling show ground the gun behaved impeccably i had heard Benelli's sometimes have a problem cycling cartridges when new no sign of this at all. The fact that i couldn't hit sweet FA i can only put down to it being a new gun
cueball
I use the m2 for fowling and recreational clays. As a marsh gun it is light to carry and proofed for hp steel, also so easy to clean when I get home, 60 seconds with an oily rag and a bore snake and it's done. Personally I knew I wouldn't clean a gas gun properly after an outing so it suits me. As a clay gun it is a bit to light and wild, I also found it very light for clays, not in the recoil sense but in swing terms. I also found it low on the comb so I ordered the benelli comb raiser. Which is designed to fit the comfortech stock. Overall I like the gun for general use. And I am not bothered if it gets a mud bath or a knock with its plastic fantastic stock
