WelshMike
Well done mate. Some nice looking foxes there. Which of the rifles is this one? The .204?
foosa
Well done mate. Some nice looking foxes there. Which of the rifles is this one? The .204? Hi Mike, yes, this is the t3 varmint .204 with a zeiss duralyt and wildcat evolution mod sitting on a harris. I've had this one since June/July this year and it really is a ridiculously accurate rife, off a bag or bipod it puts in 1/4 m.o.a with ease and is a joy to shoot, low noise, low recoil zeroed at 200 yards. They just fall over and don't get up.

Also I presume it is a necked down version of something ...please educate me please mate.

Without doing the usual "Google" search on .204, why did you go for this calibre? Also I presume it is a necked down version of something ...please educate me please mate. Well, a few years ago a friend of mine had a ruger .204 and after using it with him one afternoon on a crow session I was impressed, flat shooting calibre, low recoil and noise and the bullet strike is seen every time, so when I decided to have a dedicated night vision rifle my current. 223 became just that and I needed a new foxer so that's what I went for, the .204. I have run all the usual fox calibres and the end result is the same-dead fox, at the moment I have this t3, another one in .223 and an x bolt .243, the .204 for me is just a nice calibre to use and I find it very easy to shoot. I took the .243 out the other night and the boom and muzzle flip reminded me why I keep it for roe only now, oh that and picking up bits of fox everywhere. I hardly ever get an exit wound on a fox but give it a shake and it sounds like it's insides have been through the blender, it's been about since 2004 and is a necked down 222 magnum. Cheers for the explanation mate, sounds like a great round and you certainly put it to good use. I have 2 .243 rifles, a Howa 1500 with the N750A on it and a x bolt hunter eclipse with a Swarovski Z6I on. I do a bit of stalking when I get time hence having a rifle calibre that covers all bases. I must confess I do like the .243 though it does make a little bit of a mess. I find a 75 grain Hornady SST leaves the fox a lot lighter. May have to add the .204 to the X mas list
