Underdog
Got out with my old mate to look for a fox before the storm hits. We saw three and got two. A vixen around 100yds and this dog elsewhere at thirty yards, hanging around the back of a farm curled up out the wind. Rifle was a Sako 22-250 and 40grn Noslers. U. Underdog
Well done. It was a difficult one last night. I bet those 40s are shifting a bit.4100ish. They work better after 200yds, they can fail to penetrate this side sometimes. Flat as a very flat thing over 300 yds, plenty for night time use. Good in the wind but totally useless should one touch a casually discarded bees whisker!

I have the 53s doing 3770, that one last night didn't penetrate far before full expansion, the other side was not good. Designed to do a job and they do it well. I thought about trying the 40s but i would be just playing really. 3770 not 3870, it's hot but not that hot. Shire ir would cut down on the shallows we sometimes get! Its OK though we do OK. 3800+ is good going Doug.
Underdog
UD, don't you want a CF again? No mate. Kind of wondered if it would trouble me not having one after nearly 30 years but it has not. Heck, I would trade my 22 for a patched ball rifle in flint on my licence now if I could!
