Dekers
I'm after a WALL display cabinet for just a single 00 gauge Train Engine and Tender. I'm flexible on style but I'm struggling to find anything about the right size, everything seems to be for multiple engines/carriages etc and is much too big. Anyone got any ideas where I can find such a cabinet please? Thanks. Edited January 2, 2016 by Dekers

peck
Its ok it's me trying to be funny. Do you by any chance know the size of a 00 gauge train engine. It would have been much more helpful to give the dimensions he wanted.

stumfelter
If you don't know and can't help, why post?. What I'm saying is he should have asked if anyone knows where I can buy a display cabinet that is x long by x high by x high. Saying its for an Oo train and tender is to most people about as much use as saying how long is a piece of string!

felly100
If you guys knew the exact measurements required, could you furnish Dekers with said display cabinet? If the answers no,move along.

Dekers
That's the problem- he didn't supply us with any sizes! Feel free to have the last word,I'm out. Crumbs! I didn't expect this would start an International Incident. Its a display cabinet for an 00 Gauge train engine and tender, that is a size! When you go and buy your train you ask for 00 Gauge, you don't give them dimensions of the engine and tender, that's what 00 gauge says! It isn't a pair of gloves or a hat or shoes I'm after which would need a pretty close size/fit, its a display cabinet. I don't want a cabinet to fit it like a glove, I want a display cabinet for a single 00 gauge engine and tender rather than a display cabinet for multiple 00 gauge engines and tenders, and it needs to be wall mounted. If I said I wanted a display cabinet to take a squirrel or fox would you ask for its specific dimensions, its an 00 gauge train engine and tender. With all due respect that is a size. Its one of these. if that helps, JUST the engine and tender, NOT the whole train. Thank you, do you have any ideas where I can find such a cabinet please? To be fair not many people know about toy train sizes, I for one have no idea what size this could be. You have limited your chances with a vague description of an actual size ie Height width length. I have seen display cases in the range, model craft also small model shops but not knowing a size I can't point you in the right direction. Hope you find what your looking for. NickS
Could I suggest a small wooden shelf and a clear acrylic or polycarbonate box that drops over the top? The actual display case can be bought ready-made so you then only have to worry about a shelf, which need be nothing more than a small plank of whatever you like the look of. All of the ready-made ones seem to cater for more than one model. To go for a custom-made one is going to be expensive so consider what you would like in an ideal world and what you would be happy to put up with. http://www.luminati.co.uk/display-cabinets-cases/customise-a-display-case/ Nick
