ShootingEgg
I have a bag of cartridge cases, all rusted. Have emptied and re used the shot etc, but have all the brass with primer still live.... Apart from firing them one by one, any other way of dealing with them?? robbiep
Not really, no. Load, fire, eject, repeat. The only way to be absolutely certain.
ShootingEgg
Thought so.. Only around 500 of them... Stupidly told a mate i could used the shot from them when he said he had some old carts with rust.. Salvaged the ones that weren't to bad.. Sounds like a fun Saturday afternoon job for me
Old farrier
So if there to rusty to fit in the chamber and you cut them up how are you going to fire them ? Is it just primers or powder and wad aswel There are dangers to fireing cut offs and just fireing primers will rust your bored faster than you think All the best Of
deershooter
Deprime them in a drill press with a drill upside down in the chuck and reuse the primers I have done 100,000 cut offs and never had one go off Deershooter

Just dont want to throw out as obv they are not safe in the state they are. Deprime them in a drill press with a drill upside down in the chuck and reuse the primers I have done 100,000 cut offs and never had one go off Deershooter So slowly push the primer out? I do not reload my self so i may have a heap of primers after doing this....
TIGHTCHOKE
Build a small fire in an oil drum add little accelerant and light, they will all go off individually and will save you hours of work!
Old farrier
Try fireing a few I suggest using a single barrelled gun and check up the barrel after each shot You will be suprised at the results The bonfire is a good way but make shure there enclosed ish dustbin type incinerator As the primers can fly all over the place Have you got a well ? All the best Of

Wear safety glasses when you do it I wear a full mask, since meeting a lad who lost his right eye from a flying primer.

Would rather keep my eye than risk a primer popcorn drum I think...
