adi786
Hi,Any feedbacks on this rifle thinking to get it, also would hawke sidewinder will work on it without any issues?
foosa
I've had one a while now, very accurate with most factory ammo I've fed it, shoots 100g ppu under m.o.a with no issues so far including a decent trigger and no feed problems. Mine is the stainless fluted barrel, as for the sidewinder I've never used one so can't comment, been using a s&b 8x56 on mine.

foosa
I've used 80g soft points with good results, accurate enough for foxes and crows out to 200 yards. I know a couple of guys using the eclipse for dedicated foxing with no complaints.

iain
Hi, Any feedbacks on this rifle thinking to get it, also would hawke sidewinder will work on it without any issues? I'd look for something German second hand plenty are about. Depends what you use it for and how much. Seen new S&B 8x56 30mm tube scopes for £400. Remember with a quality scope, if you sell it you won't lose a lot. Buy a Hawke, you'll lose a lot if you sell it.
dob
I have one in synthetic with a stainless fluted barrel in .223 flavour, love the feather lite trigger, can't fault it.

mick miller
Well, I held back till that post. People might already have read about the issues I had with mine. I bought a very early model, probably one of the first few to reach the UK. With a trigger that required the finger strength of Schwarzenegger, a crown nibbled out by steel toothed rodents and an inability to produce groups of less than 1.5" at 100 yards with Any factory ammo;I was less than impressed. The stock was nice though. Many pounds and hours of gunsmiths time later, I had a rifle with a lovely crisp trigger, perfect crown and hand loading addressed the accuracy issues. As with any rifle, there's always a few lemons. Edited January 16, 2016 by mick miller

adi786
kool thanks, went to shop the other day and saw Steyr Mannlicher Pro Hunter model used but been told its forest commisionary gun and shop guy was sayng i know the history of this gun and it is literally brand new, but asking price felt bit high was coming with Mod, sling, case, scope (nikko sterling 4-16x50 gameking which checked seems to be budget scope 100£ or so ..).. asking price was £1095 in shop.. Have spoken to another shop and asked them after above reviews to put 243 eclipse on a side for me.. new.. the best ammo to go with it would be winchester? mick miller
70gn ballistic tipped for me on fox, 70gn hollow point on munties. If I'm fallow stalking I switch to 100gn and just dial the adjustment into the elevation. Edited January 17, 2016 by mick miller
