baikal
Hi I have been searching the web for days looking for ejectors for a Baikal IJ 58 MAE 12 gauge Side by Side shotgun. I would be most appreciated if anyone out there could help me. At the moment one has dropped slightly through ware so cartridge goes past ejector when loading and can't close barrels. Any information would be grateful. This is my first gun and would like it to last a wile for rough\pigeon shooting. Thanks in advance. Lord Geordie
T W Chambers is a gun parts stockist in Scotland iirc. It sells spares for a comprehensive range of guns and is well worth a look!
baikal
Thanks for the link Bluebarrels. I had a look but to no avail. If I can't find any ejectors soon is there any way that I can use the gun with what I've got. For example can I lock the ejectors I have in place to make the gun usable? Thanks for your replies. hambone
Have you tried asking a gunsmith to have a look at it? It might be a strait forward easy/cheap fix.
darren 67
Is it a sxs if it is is there a switch in the forend to stop ejectors working?
Salopian
The issue he has is the cartridge drops past the ejector ! Easiest fix is to remove the ejector slide and use it without ejectors. Or try York Guns for Baikal parts .
baikal
Hi again hambone- Havent had time to call gunsmith yet. Der I can Email them. darren 67- Yes it is a SxS. When I activate the switch the ejectors don't eject the cartridges but they still protrude from the barrels allowing the new cartridge to pass and preventing the closing of the gun. I hope that makes sense. Salopian- If I remove the ejectors there will be gaps where the ejectors once were at the end of the barrels. Would the gun still be safe to use? Does that make sense. Right I'm off to look at York guns. Thanks all for your time.
bruno22rf
I cannot imagine an ejector wearing so badly that a cartridge would slide over it? Take it to a gunsmith for your own safety, Baikal's are usually bomb proof.
figgy
It happens a lot when ejectors wear the play allows the ejector to slide over the rim on the cartridge head without lifting the cart. Then when you try to close the gun the ejector get jammed on the cartridge between the standing breach. I borrowed the gun and it's kind of good faith to return it fixed isn't it so frustrating as its probably only about £15 and my local smith has found loads of left ejectors but not one single right one
