jonno 357
Youngest of the 66 World Cup squad passed away last night aged 61 RIP Jonno
Suffolk shooter
He was a little man with a big heart and formed one third of Harry Catterick's "Holy Trinity" Midfield alongside Howard Kendall and Colin Harvey at Everton. Other than winning the World cup when he was a BLACKPOOL Player, it is sad to think a player of his calibre only ever achieved one senior honour and that was being a league winner with Everton in 1970. Alan, You did us proud in '66, you're gone but never forgotten. RIP SS
Cranfield
Thats a shock, I haven't read anywhere that he was ill, 61 is no age. He always reminded me of a bantam cock, small, but with a fair degree of attitude. Top man.

Dr W
Thats a shock, I haven't read anywhere that he was ill, 61 is no age. He always reminded me of a bantam cock, small, but with a fair degree of attitude. Top man. He wasn't ill, he had a heart attack putting out a fire in his garden. A true sportsman unlike these poncy over paid morons who play today
Devon Fox
RIP Mr Ball. He was a lovely bloke, who lived locally to me for some time. He used to walk his dog and come and watch my local village footy team, took the half time team talks on a few occasions, he even came on as a sub in our last game of the season, a true gent. That sums the attitude of the guy up in total. Always willing to give advice when needed, and to pass on his knowledge. As Dr W said not like these "Poncy overpaid morons of today". Whilst this has happened in the last 24 hours, I honestly can't remember anyone having a bad word to say against the man prior to the devastating news. As an Everton Fan myself, I will wear my Shirt for the game against Man Utd with a black armband, such is the respect the man deserves. Owenwill
R.I.P. My dad often recites the tale of seeing Alan Balls wondergoal for the blues from the side line against Liverpool in the late 60's, hell of a player and true gent
BSA Shaun
Met the man when I was about 10. Signed a football for me along with the rest of the Portsmouth team at the time.
death from below
Shame the footy players today couldn't follow the example of this type of fella.......paid reletively peanuts to todays stars.....who have no regards for the fortunate position they are in,.....and lets face it.....don't come up to much when on the world stage....not like the '66 lot(wasn't born then but obviously have saw their glory so many times).
