plank06
Just started into the minefield of land rover ownership. Bought a 300tdi, very tidy chassis and body. Runs sweet too! Can anybody recommend some decent off road/ on road tyres. A good all round balance of grip and road handling is what I'm after. It won't see no major off road, just muddy verges and the odd stubble. Are there any general maintenance procedures fellow owners could recommend? Thanks in advance.

Cosd
Fitted the General Grabber AT2's on mine and really pleased. Quiet and well behaved in all weather conditions so far, not had snow since I got them, and very good off road to. Put in a new boot if it hasn't been done yet!Ridiculous blind advice!! Scully
I think there is a film of fixing Disco' 1 sunroof leaks knocking about on youtube somewhere if you should ever need it. Both mine leaked in but the chassis gave up before I got round to doing anything about them. 300tdi is still going strong though, somewhere. garygreengrass
Get a set of bfgoodrich all terrain tyres last for years and change the oil every 8000 miles and give it a good waxoyl , Sold mine with 175000 on the clock and still running like a watch. rodp
Correct, but it's still a 300tdi Discovery with aircon, cruise control and half leather / logo trim. Doesn't matter where it's been, it was made here.
sooty 54
Absolutely ,our Discoveries would last like this if we didn't salt our roads . I looked at buying one once ,but bought one from a dealer near by . Turned out to be the worst thing I ever bought . Hindsight is a wonderful thing ! .
