CZ527 weaver rail help

I'm about to order one from the states, however postage (fast) for one is prohibitive. If I order two then we could split the costs and I can sort the forward postage here.

On top of purchase price and shipping UK Customs will likely add a further charge for VAT and sometimes the courier also adds a charge.

These seem to be the best though, aircraft grade aluminum, low profile and with a slot cut for the ejection port. They're also slightly extended beyond the regular dovetail length.

They won't ship internationally, but I can get someone else to ship it to the UK, it adds around 5 dollars to the cost.

I'm not sure how this fits onto the rifle though, I haven't collected my 527 yet, so don't have anything to reference this to.

I had assumed that there were already holes in the receiver and dovetail and that this would be a straight fit, however, if it requires that holes are drilled and tapped it complicates things.

It looks like there's no clamp, it has to be fitted flush to the existing dovetail?

Or possibly it slides on, and the grub screws index on some form of detent or hole on the dovetail?

I found out about this product from this post: http://www.scout.com/military/snipers-hide/forums/5519-gunsmithing/14434868-cz-527-milling-to-attach-custom-pic-rail

Might make more sense to you. It may be that you have to slide the rail on and use the located set screws to apply upward force to the dovetail grooves, and this is what provides the securing force?

I think so yes, if you want I can work out an approximate cost. And no offence, but if you're interested I'd need at least part of the purchase price before I ordered two, not wanting to be stuck with one I can't use.

I'll pm you some more info and a screen shot of the basket (to confirm I'm not fibbing about the shipping). As I said sometimes this stuff can sail through customs unaffected, more often it attracts some form of onward charge, DHL, for instance, frequently send me an invoice for customs and handling about three weeks after receipt.

Yes, but as you are so busy with your Target Masters (very happy btw), you're unlikely to go into mass production anytime soon?

Also, as I seem to have mislaid my lathe, workshop, milling machine and anodiser that leaves me little choice than to bend over and take the customs and shipping charges!

Ahh yes. Sorry Mick - I forgot to mention that it's not something you could just whittle up with a penknife. :)

(Pleased the TM's working well for you)

Yes, I saw that one. I don't like the clamping style as means the rail sits high above the dovetail, plus, it doesn't extend beyond the standard rail, which with add-ons and nv gear is really handy to have that extra forward reach. Kozap are a Czech company, they're only £30 from the Czech Republic but as they won't export either you have to pay the extra £30 charge from OW.

I prefer the look of the American one, and from what I've read, the fit is better. But thanks for the link.

You mean this one http://opticswarehouse.co.uk/product/kozap-cz527-hex-clamp-1-piece-weaver-picatinny-rifle-base/(out of stock btw).

Hi Guys I have a dip products .20 moa rail, DIP Products inc. will not ship outside the states. But I managed to order mine through Kinneys shooting supplies, they are also in the states the total cost of this was $59.30 that was nearly 4 years ago now and they are an excellent piece of kit. They slide onto the CZ lugs you tightenen them up using a bit of thread locking glue and bobs your uncle. The part may not be listed on their site but send them and a mail and they will be able to get one.

We ordered from kinneys, at the moment I'm not getting any response to my emails though?

Order had been placed but not processed yet, maybe he's away for a few days?

When did you put in the order? Maybe they don't work Saturdays?

When I ordered mine they didn't have any in stock so they had to be manufactured, it took nearly a month but it was well worth the wait.
