WelshAndy
Whilst video hoping on YouTube a came across this guy. The first video was of four pups running around a yard, everything seemed ok. Second video to pop up was on of an rspca inspector, I watched the whole 9 minutes! I quick google search and there are pages and pages of people slating this guy because of his training methods! There's even a video of him giving verbal abuse to a woman over the phone! Plus petitions to the government!, His methods probably work but what I don't understand is why would you broadcast them to the home of the internet trolls, keyboard warriors and pink and cuddly brigade!! bigbird
Oooh can of worms, there was a huge thing about him on Facebook a year or so ago. He didn't do himself any favours as you say by making such a big deal of it and his argument with the lady who shall remain nameless. cocker boy
I don't know anything about him.and care less but I am seriously concerned by rspca able to interview anyone under caution They aren't "able" to interview any body. They wear a uniform to make people think they have legal powers. They have NONE at all !!!!!. Absolutely none. Just tell them to **** off if they ever turn up. Dirty Harry
They are able to interview under caution but that would have to be agreed to by both parties. If he said no to an interview under caution then they would have to get the police to arrest him on suspicion of an animal welfare offence and then they could interview. How can they interview under caution?. They have NO legal power. It is just words. I can ask you a question, and say it is under caution, but it means nothing at all
Danger-Mouse
The Law and the RSPCABy Dr.Barry Peachey LLB(Hons), LLM, PhD, FCollP, MBAE, ACIArb, FETC The RSPCA is a charity. The Inspectorate is NOT a public law enforcement body. Society Inspectors have NO special legal powers whatsoever. They have NO special powers to arrest offenders. They have NO right to enter your home to inspect your animals or to demand that you answer any of their questions. They have NO right of access to shows, fairs and markets other than as members of the public, and can only carry out any law enforcement function as an assistant to a police-officer, upon that officer’s request. They have NO power to stop, obstruct or otherwise detain any vehicle carrying animals. Members of the Inspectorate wear uniforms which make them as much like police officers as the law will allow. They are not. The LOWEST "rank" in the Inspectorate is Inspector (apart from Trainee Inspectors). Above that they have "Chief Inspectors", "Superintendent", ’ and "Chief Superintendents". None of these ranks are officers of the Crown, and have no legal significance whatsoever. They are designed to impress the public. Seems pretty clear. Dirty Harry
Cocker boy you do not have to be a Police Officer to interview someone under caution. Cautioning someone does not mean they are under arrest it just means that anything they say could be used against them if it gets to court. Danger Mouse you are correct which is why if you do not wish to be interviewed by them their only option is to call the police. If there is enough to arrest you and the police decide that it is necessary and proportionate they might. This would probably result in an interview at the station. If someone in the street, which is all the rspca "inspectors " really are ,said to you " I am going to question you under caution" what would you say to them?. I would tell them to **** off. Saying things like that is part of their "police like" tactics to get the message across that they are important. They are nothing at all but a bog standard charity. I wonder if water aid will question me under caution if I refuse to give them £2 a month?
Dirty Harry
Cocker boy if the RSPCA came to my house with the right attitude and had concerns about my animals I'd let them see them. If they wanted to interview me I'd tell them where to go.
rimfire4969
Back to the topic. I had some help with one of my dogs about 9 years ago with Chris. My dog was running in and with his help in his rabbit pen we got her sorted and I was very pleased with the result. He done nothing to my dog that was bad or abusive. I don't do Facebook so I know of nothing mentioned above but did not want for this to turn into a witch hunt.
Danger-Mouse
Watched one of the videos mentioned in the RSPCA clip. Not nice to see a dog hauled into the air by either it`s scruff, collar or lead (hard to tell exactly which from the angle). As most people/trainers agree that positive reinforcement works in training his methodology seems at best, dated. Certainly not someone I`d employ to train a dog.
