Just picked up the action after having it reblued, and must say I'm well happy with the finish.post-2987-0-55581400-1458842223_thumb.jpg

I just need to find the spacer now that I put in a safe place, ??? :-/ so I can put on a new butt pad I've just reshaped since the old one was a tad tatty.

Then off to have the barrel put on, proofed then get a bit of loading.post-2987-0-19303400-1458842356_thumb.jpg

Can't wait.

Nice who re blued it john? I thought the action was away being fitted to the barrel

I wanted it blued before the barrel was on, which incedently is all ready. The blueing won't touch stainless (as the barrel is) so it would need to be removed beforehand. I can't see the point having the gunsmith doing a good job with the reamer, truing the barrel with action etc to have someone else undo the work.

Thanks Rimfire I'm sure it will be a good un; -)

No,

I'm at work anyway dude. After stripping the stock and a few coats of oil on i bought a new butt pad and I've spent nearly 2 hours today trying to find the spacers off the old padays. Looked everywhere but the right place, so annoying.

Nice gun. Too much plastic around these days (not that all mine are wood stocked)

Got some very good reference books on the origins of the firm, from State Home Guard factory to commercial manufacturing.

Plus some old adverts from them from the 30's & an old 1930's cardboard 15-rd ammo box.
