Catamong
Well folks, having shot it last year i've got to say it was a very disappointing event, as a "World Championship" it simply didn't cut the proverbial mustard. The layout was set out by inexperienced course setters, it didn't come anywhere near the level of target quality that you savoured at the Essex Masters. I also don't recall seeing a single foreign competitor there, so much for the "World Championship" event..?? A very far cry from the superb shoots that were held at Roundwood, near Basingstoke, back in the 80's / 90's, they were quality events with a truly International flavour, and absolutely everybody in the Sporting Clays scene shot it, it really was that popular. I'm saving my money this year, I'm not bothered about this one. Cat.
Suffolk shooter
Am I getting confused here or did Richard Faulds not set this course out last year I know he set one of the biggies out (And then couldn't shoot it because he set the course out) and there were some questions asked, but surely at the end of the day you still have to hit them? Or is this not the case? SS
tosspot
Yes SS you are confused sure cat will be able to tell you what one Faulds set up but it weren't the Beretta World

Dunkield
Do you have to use non lead shot for shooting across trout lakes?
MC
Only if the ground is registered as a SSSI, (site of specific scientific interest) You then have to use Non toxic to shoot anything.
Catamong
The organisers claim that whilst shooting takes place across the lakes, no shot actually enters the water, there was certainly a lot of shooting debris in the lake at the time I shot it. In reponse to earlier comments by Paulos, I don't want to put anybody off shooting it as you may well enjoy it, I can only compare the "quality" of the event to the many other major events that I shoot, and also the previous Beretta World events at Roundwood, for me it was a big dissapointment, and therefore I won't be there. paulos
yeah, ive got my entry. squad 138 at 9.30 on sunday, i dont think i going to be able to make it now though which is a shame, ive been really looking forward to it. but as id now being going down on my own rather than the 4 of us as planned then with fuel and accomadation then its going to be too costly still, a lot can happen in a week so if i do have suden cash injection then ill be there with bells on. BSA Shaun
That's being held about 3 minutes from my house! If I had a beretta I'd be shooting it, but reckon a few eyebrows would be raised if I rocked up with the escort
