oowee
Bored here with the rain so set up a target in the garden to practice with the CZ and shot this group at 75 yds. Its good for me as I am still trying to get used to the rifle. Ammunition is winchester subs with rifle zeroed at 50 yds and a 9x scope gives 1 mildot drop at 75yds. I went down the shop and picked up a box of cci velocitor which run at 1435 and thought if I can hold the accuracy they would give me a new zero at 75yds. Likely or not? I would be interested to hear how tight a group those practiced with 22lr can achieve.
Stonepark
With eley subs, I play at 100 yards, using the powder end of spent plastic wads as target and hit therm 9/10 off bipod. I could never get winchester subs to group as tight. CCI Velocitors your group will likely shift (mine went 4 inches to left and up 2 inches) but could only manage 2-3 inch groups at 100, but having to re-zero when switching back and forth is a pain and the crack is torture once used to subs. oowee
Thanks Stonepark this gives me a bench mark. Quite some work to do yet then. Interesting that the faster bullet centre moves I was hoping I could just swap between the two I could only get winchester subs at my local supplier but I have now find a better source so can try a few others. Limited to just 600 rounds which is a pain.
kent
With better ammo and more practice things will tighten up Hv will not have a positive effect on accuracy just trajectory. For me they defeat the purpose of the moderated 22 lr and in no way get near a small centrefire so ijust don't bother with them Hv can also loose accuracy as they pass back through the sound barrier. Range this happens varies but about 100 ish
Whitebridges
New 42g Winchester subs? Me and my Annie didn't really get on with them. Better with the older 40g round but not the best ammo in the world. Have you had a trigger job on your CZ? If you really want an accurate .22 LR round and have a full bank account try a few Eley Tenex, they usually shoot brilliant but it might show you what is possible. robbiep
That's a nice group. My Anschutz shoots well with subs (I like Lapua, really get on well with it), but I've found accuracy goes to hell with HV stuff.
oowee
They are 42g no trigger job yet but might do as my 40lb Air Ranger is doing better groups. I will try the tennex thx for recommendation I am keen to find out what it will do even if I cant follow it up in the field I will know who to blame! Its a 5 shot group by the way one hole under the tape

Rimfireboy
To my surprise, federal Classic HV @ £4 odd a box were shooting thumbnail sized groups at 75 yards with my 1417 anschutz. I've always found eley's take some beating though for accuracy in .22 rimfire ammo, especially beyond 60 yards.
