thermal binos

I saw a thermal imager a few years ago and it was pretty good. You sort of set the sensitivity up against the sky (I think). I remember it could detect the heat from overhead electrical supply cables. It had a set of diode lights that the more heat it detected more of these diodes in a row lit up. You could point it at a wood and detect deer that were just inside it. So at dusk you could sort of scan the wood edge from across the field and detect whether there was anything in a certain part.
