SimpleSimon
Hi all, I'm after opinions on older (2000-2003 ish) Rangers. I've seen a few looking in pretty good shape with anywhere between 80 and 150k on the clock and £1500 to £3000. General used car pitfalls aside, I just wondered what they're like? bostonmick
Daughter Had a 2002 mazda which is basically the same truck. Had it for around five years fairly trouble free.it had 230k on clock when we sold it due to rear axle problem.then bought her a 2009 ranger which was the worst motor we have ever owned. Doggone
I paid about £9000 for an x reg a few years ago, then over the next few years spent another £6000 on springs, back axle, clutch, engine and radiator. I wouldn't recommend any of the early models. I don't know what the newer ones are like. Andy

sishyplops
Just sold my 2003 thunder as the gearbox had gone, was quoted between 500 and 1000 to do it s sold it for 1250 with 125k on it, had it for 5 yrs and only did 20k miles in it, didn't spend much on it in terms of repairs, but had it serviced every year regardless of miles , good truck but the gearbox is notorious for 5th gear issues, so ask if it's been done
