I'd pay because I love shooting and it's so hard to pick land up nowadays I just need some land I'm not even bothered if it has no verim/pests. I just really need some of my own I have friends that have a lot of it one friend has over 20000 acres. I have none

i think trust goes further than money with most level headed farmers so i would'nt worry about people paying....

Get out there spot the fields that have a problem on the day, find the owner offer your services for the day, forgwet getting long term permission just find the odd days and keep doing that and in the end land will come to you ... Its all about putting in the ground time and lots of it

Thanks roadkill that's really helpful trust does come into it in fact that's the main factor... I can say I have literally tried everything and now close to giving up and selling everything I've got... it's just when you ask they say no after everything I've said them. It's just a confidence killer.. I'm one hell of a shot as well good people like me go to waist for the one that mess around and shoot stock or things they shouldn't

most farms already have people shooting them and get people asking all the time i only know this as i work on a farm and see quite a few coming in asking, as has been said above spot a problem and offer to sort it though we have a few on ours the farmer rarely says no to someone who has seen a problem and asked to deal with it that day and not asked for permanent shoot rights

i should learn to read the topic title lol, you must have loads of shoot days around there, get out and offer beating that is another great way of picking up shooting especially if you muck in and help the keeper and show you are keen... if you don't know of any go on n.obs website which is a site that looks for beaters and i believe you can offer your services on there also....

Not the best time of the year to ask, it's the time when everyone wants permission to shoot, the fair weather shooters.

Get out there and knock on the doors when it's cold raining and miserable, show the farmer how determined you are.

Yes there are loads of farms etc but they are all taken as I say my friend has over 20000 acres... I went out the other day when it was absolutely chucking it down did over 100 miles that day and everyone just said no I tried different approaches still no look... I thought it would have been easier than this to be honest... roadkill are you saying go to farm offer to help them out on the field as in working for volunteering because that's something I haven't thought of..

He knows a lot of people like a ridiculous amount that's why he has so much... he takes me out quite a lot... but I just want somewhere were I go and do my thing... he told me the story of why he don't give land away earlier and I agree with him why he doesn't do it... he doesn't go out everyday shooting... I would personal tho.

And in all fairness he did offer me some land but I needed a shotgun and I haven't got one nor the licence

you sound very desperate mate if that's how you speak to the farmers then i would say that has a big part to why your not having much luck,

what do you do for a living if it's anything a farmer could use offer your services,

also don't just try farms try golf courses small holding's horse paddock's farm shops that grow their own veg, there are 2 places round this way that grow christmas tree's they also have problem's my next door neighbour shoot Bedford football ground so look at sports ground's

loads for you to try

I'm a brick layer by trade.. but jack of all trades... your right there is loads of stuff I can try will give it a shot tomorrow I think

Get to your nearest golf/cricket club and look for damage. If it is speak to the secretary or the grounds keeper and say you've noticed damage and would they mind if you took a few rabbits. Insurance also helps 👍
