TONY R
Never been a bobber fan but last 2 years i have built a few they have grown on me, but this one is verging on perfection. Its inspitation fore my next project. Whats your opinion, Perhaps where is the rest of it.
ditchman
much prefere bobbers to choppers.......chopping a motocycle was style...bobbing a cycle was generally for improvment in racing............i expect to see more bobjobs in the years to come as engines are still about but frames are not...and to be made rider freindly have to be "improved"........ something like above is mouthwatering...........just so simple........... TONY R
Simple is good ditch man and like you i see the more practical austere style of a bobber far more palatable than any glitzy chopper. The whole bobber thing can be applied to so many mundane commuter twins and jap cruisers not just the pure triumphs etc. It can be done to fit what you have rather than any set component type, which for me is part of it, Bobbers were what people had and they stripped them to improve performance and thats as good today as it ever was Colin Chapman he of lotus fame said to add speed add lightness or something similar. And although i agree in principal with you chris i t would look better with a drum on say a pure historical point of view, These bobers are being built today from whats on the bike, spokes look better but even aloys and disks work for me because they are staying true to the bobber ideology by running whats there, and its kind of giving a more individual slant to the times the bikes and the builder rather than trying to create a carbon coppy of a genuine sprung hub triumph etc. Dont get me wrong i love the triumphs, but realisticaly its kawasakis suzukis hondas and the odd italian like cagivas etc that can be turned into bobbers these days by typical back yard custom builders . Colin Chapman reckoned the further it went past the finish line and held together the more excess weight it carried. In an ideal world it should pass the finish line and fall apart. R1nut
The zaust pipes seem an add on to me, I would wrap them around the bottom and hide them for clean lines. Apart from that and tidying up a few cables a tidy looking bike!!
ditchman
i think the updated version of the bobber is the "cafe racer"........as r1nut says a little tidy up on the exhausts.........
mrwabbits
,,,,,, and the reason the frames are on short supply is because everyone keeps chopping them up to make bobbers . Keep up the good work dude , she looks mighty fine .. Sometimes less is more , too much clutter and they start to look generic . . Thinking of hard tailing my 650 trumpet , if anyone has a bolt-on tail frame spare knocking around ? donations gratefully received
four-wheel-drive
motor cycles aren't my thing ether I think that they are good on the track and offroad scrambling etc but I have seen to many people that I know who have been maimed and killed on the on our roads and the newer ones are just to stupid fast and that is part of the reason why so many people are ending up dead. A bike came past the three counties show ground earlier, as the wife and I were walking back to our motor. I kid you not, he was in warp drive, past the exits from the show ground. I've had bikes, I've had rally cars, I've had fast road cars, this bloke was just an idiot All it needed was one car to edge out, even if he didn't hit the car and just bounced down the tarmac that would have killed him. Luckily he got away with it, nothing pulling out as he went past. Next time he may not live to tell the tale

rodp
There's probably somewhere better than a shooting forum to whine about noisey things that scare you Oh I'm not whining, but if he wants to destroy himself there's better places to do it. Some do track days, some do MX, I did trials for years. Not really fair he should hit / kill someone else just because he's too tight or not got the bottle to pitch himself against others in competition. When I say this bike was travelling I mean REALLY going for it, past a site exit where cars with kids pull out ........... is that right or not ??
