Dead-Eyed Duck
Well done too Sako Finnfire? Yep it's a Sako Varmint with the barrel chopped down and the fore-end wood thinned off to make it more handy. The result is a somewhat brute - looking weapon, but the barrel couldn't move if it tried, and the weight ensures that it is absolutely steady. Trigger is wonderful. The scope is a Swaro 6 x42, and the light pick-up is a lot better than the Simmons which it recently replaced. Accuracy is literally a one-holer at 50 yards with Eley subs. If Sako made a 0.17 hmr like this it would be an absolute winner. Whilst the Quad is good, the heavy barrel on the Varmint would ensure that the barrel did not heat up so rapidly. Gonna Shoot a Wabbit borrows it on a regular basis out of shear envy, although on this occasion his CZ had a major bolt malfunction.
