wigeon jim
Hi, I have a friend that has a new highlux with 17" wheels, he wants to fit steel wheels and mud tyres and has been told that 16" steel rims and higher mud tyres would give the same diameter as the 17" wheels, problem is he has also been told that his truck has bigger brake callipers which need the 17" rims, anyone fitted muds to a new highlux and what size did you fit? Jim.
robbiep
The newest version of the Hilux has a minimum of 17" wheel fitted as standard. So fitting any size smaller than that may well obstruct the brakes, and/or prevent adequate brake cooling.
Dougy
You will only get invincible wheels to fit unless you get spacers, as you say the brake calipers on the invincibles are bigger than the HL3s. The offset is allot different. Been there done that.

wigeon jim
I thought you had to stick to 17" rims on a new highlux or are you using spacers, Jim.

No idea Jim., original wheels where 16 then had recall changed to 15. I am sure there are no after market wheels that will fit 15", I've looked for 3 year's + now, steel modular need spacers due to the front calipers.
