bullet1747
I acquired my .222 few weeks back but had to send cert away as the polthey'd ad put the wrong mod size down on my cert they sorted this for me but has me thinking how much crack does it really take out when fired Cheers
kennett
A lot. The 223 we use for foxing is almost as quiet as my HMR, to me behind the gun it sounds much more like a thud than a crack.
TONY R
T8s are quiet on .223 too, mate runs one, its quieter than the ace ultra on my .22250.

team tractor
WhyThey rot from the inside and fall apart
reggiegun
They rot from the inside and fall apart Correct, first thing you know that they have rusted from inside is holes appear. I know loads of t8's that have failed. Jackson Rifles even offer a trade in for old ones failed. Quiet mod, but not for me secondhand. Dekers
They rot from the inside and fall apart Yep, but the Stainless version was introduced in an attempt to resolve that one. To the OP, yes, they make a substantial difference to the propellant "bang" but can do nothing to stop the sonic boom! They "can" also aid accuracy Against this you have to consider cost and balance of rifle.

Bewsher500
get a PES/MAE T12 scout awesome sound attenuation on .222, I also ran mine on .243 (has a 6.5mm bore) slimmer and shorter than a T8, stainless and better design JMS arms or Steve Kershaw do them Also a T8 with a 8/9/10mm bore for 30cal will never be as efficient as a mod with a closer bore to calibre fit Edited August 21, 2016 by Bewsher500
Craig83
I got a second hand one you can buy, it's been dryed then oiled after every use. And sits on my license as full bore
