Yep, but the Stainless version was introduced in an attempt to resolve that one. :good:

 

To the OP, yes, they make a substantial difference to the propellant "bang" but can do nothing to stop the sonic boom! They "can" also aid accuracy

 

Against this you have to consider cost and balance of rifle.

get a PES/MAE T12 scout

 

awesome sound attenuation on .222, I also ran mine on .243 (has a 6.5mm bore)

 

slimmer and shorter than a T8, stainless and better design

JMS arms or Steve Kershaw do them

 

Also a T8 with a 8/9/10mm bore for 30cal will never be as efficient as a mod with a closer bore to calibre fit
