marlin1
Every animal deserves respect, they have evolved the same as us and are here for a reason. to starve an animal then make it suffer a slow death is so wrong ...... pleased you posted video, but not so pleased I watched it. We all see in the press when pets that are mistreated but mistreating and killing any wild animal like this ??;)??. Glad I was not there when that bloke was stabbing that deer or would have lost my cert's..
digger
Now, in an ideal world the RCA would get the number plate from the land rover. They would then give this to a dodgy sympathiser at the DVLA who would give them the owners address. Presently a few members would start a campaign against the driver, starting with phone calls and moving on to vandalism, all supervised at great expense to the tax payer, by the local police. When the victim is shown on the local news it will be a biased report. Tired of not appearing to have acheived anything one or two extremists will then dig up the drivers gran. Nothing the Lazy And Clueless ****s have done over the last twenty years has surprised me, they hide the nutters and hail them as heros. Perhaps if the above came true the snivelling sops would think on.

harryhawk
I know of the guy who stabbed the deer. Ex keeper, vermin controller and estate ranger for the largest land owner in this part of East and North Devon. He say's he was driving past and noticed the stag in distress so put it out of it's misery. OK? But what about the LACS action when they turned up to pick up the carcass? This stinks if you ask me and i've never trusted the bloke in question anyway.
marlin1
Love shooting, but give every respect to any quarry I hunt. I will do my up most to make sure any animal I shoot do not suffer. Do not eat carrion, rats or foxes, but will shoot them if I am sure of a clean kill when asked by farmer.

Curly87
makes me sick! ive stalked on land a couple of times which runs right next to that area and its ludicrous the amount of deer that are there they just havent got a clue, then they have the cheek to hassel my friend who mainly stalks on this land next to theirs about the cruelty that he is causing what the **** is this world coming too it really is worrying
Baldrick
Has that footage made it to a national newspaper or news channel? Or would the press be incurring the mighty wrath of Douglas Bachelor by doing so? Personally I think it is astonishing footage, showing the most inhumane behaviour imaginable. It makes a run-of-the-mill PETA video on animal cruelty look like a Disney movie.

digger
In all honesty I think the best course of action is not the one usually adopted by fieldsporstmen like ourselves ( indignation but not a lot else ). Surely this " sanctuary " is in reality a fenced area or at least one that the deer can be freed from ? Lets turn the tide and do the animals a favour, god knows those clueless twots wont do it. Failing that I vote we do to them as they have done to us.

This stinks if you ask me and i've never trusted the bloke in question anyway. But there is a more humane way of doing it there is but this goes on in every halal slaughterhouse in the world. I've been shooting near this "reserve" and I know there was a lot of friction between them and local shoots, they need education on animals and how to keep and manage them. If you accept their principles then its easy to see how they get themselves in a mess but in this video filmed by someone with their co-operation it makes me wonder what the motives behind it are, presumably anti LACS which means it may not have been done with their knowledge. As ever you can't believe everything online.
