jeffjjack
Could anyone tell me what the protocol is for purchasing a shotgun when you don't have any room on your current certificate in Lincolnshire. Its my first license and over the past 4 years I have bought and sold and held guns for friends until they get their license and as a consequence I have no slots left. I was hoping to go and buy my new gun on Saturday but was unsure of the protocol. I am struggling to get anyone at lincs firearms department to answer the phone but if I have to send the license back I will be unable to purchase on Saturday I can't find a downloadable page to attach to the back so I am presuming I will have to get something from the firearms dept or a police station?? fortune
Squeeze it in there somewhere. You dont have to have one gun per box. As long as the detail is there. Write it in there real small. As long as it can be read your ok..
jeffjjack
It'd have to be really small!
mickmep
speak to your licencing office. when I filled mine up I just sent it back in and they sent out a new one, with the guns I had purchased under the 'shotguns possessed' table, and a whole 2 new pages to fill in. only took a couple of days. sussex weren't overly keen on you attaching extra bits of paper to the certificate shall we say. mine's full again, but I haven't sent it back in yet, its a good incentive for me not to make any more rash purchases. jeffjjack
Yeah, just got in contact with them and I have to return it. They say it will be a "quick" turn around for this but we will see. The annoying thing is that it has been filled with the rash purchases and I have just sold some of the rash purchases and my main 12g to fund buying a new gun. I have spent many weeks deliberating and trying guns and this is probably the most informed buys I have made and a gun I want to keep for many years I was going to finally buy it this weekend... DOH!!!! Will have to wait until the license is returned!!
jeffjjack
Can I still drop it off in Nettleham?? or have the group 4 mob moved somewhere else. The postal address is only a PO box??
Guest stevo
Just post it off to them with a covering letter explaining you want a duplicate SGC and the fee of £4.00 also enclosing your old/full ticket and post it off to nettleham ( address is on your SGS. And yes it's the PO box one ) should be around 10 say turn around. Job done. Edited August 19, 2016 by stevo

subsonicnat
Just get A4 paper copy across the TOP revelant Blocks. As if its another panel, thats what I was told to do.. Attache to shotgun licence, as long as the information is there and you inform them, you have complied with what they require..

jeffjjack
Welll... got my licence ready with a covering letter to send off and be re-printed but the thought.... I'll just pop to the gun shop first So.. the guys at the gun shop said.. dont worry I'll write it on the other side (they do it all the time) and if they say anything you can blame me! No worries! So got my new gun!! So on the way home I hand delivered my licence, letter and new transfer of shotgun form in at the Police HQ... Not too bothered how long they take now!! Thanks for all the replies!!! Jeff Edited August 22, 2016 by jeffjjack
