fortune
Apart from the fact that you can, why would you want to and If you did would it wreck the stock because it was weakened by the re carving?
McSpredder
Have a look at the A A Bown website to see what can be achieved when modifying a Beretta O/U to make it more like a traditional game gun. http://www.doubleguns.co.uk/brown-beretta.html Easy on the eye, somewhat hard on the pocket. This is where I got the idea from as I would like it to "feel" more like my side by sides Is the gun built on the light weight action? fortune
This is where I got the idea from as I would like it to "feel" more like my side by sides Standard action The reason that I ask is that a friend has a 28 silver pig and it is built on the same action and barrels as my 686 20 bore. the weight of his gun is heavier than my 20 due to the fact that the barrels have all of that meat in them. There are two actions for the 28 one is the 20 size and the other is a much lighter, smaller action. When I was looking at getting a 28 He offered it to me but as soon as I had it in my hand I declined the offer because it felt like a dead fencepost in comparison to my 686 20. I was really disapointed because I imagined that It would be quite nice to have the 20 & 28 in the same make. now if you go and take off an amount of wood is the gun going to balance and feel right? I also wonder why Beretta dont make a model variant like the Brown convertion. if they do I have never seen one.

I may be wrong but I don't think any re-carving is involved, our local gunsmith uses hot linseed oil to do this
casts_by_fly
Don't bother converting it. Just buy a fresh stock. https://www.colegun.com/collections/beretta-680-series-20ga-wood-sets/products/beretta-687-20g-english-wood-set-fl20020 Rick
welshwarrior
Not hard to cut of the pistol grip and reshape then rechequering but time consuming. Easier to buy a new straight hand stock for a 20 action from a dealer with a GMK account.
