lord_seagrave
OK - dumb question time, but I've seen moorhen chicks that are black and fluffy and definitely have red/yellow beaks. Is that just the males? LS

JDog
OK - dumb question time, but I've seen moorhen chicks that are black and fluffy and definitely have red/yellow beaks. Is that just the males? LS That's how they look when they are much younger. The bird in the picture may well be five months old. The down will have disappeared months ago.
